Cyclists on EuroVelo3 should turn left here - not particularly scary.

Corduroy tactiles were specified in the drawings and corduroy tactiles were duly installed, rather than cycleway tactiles.

Shallow steps on the path from Ashvale Crescent to Cowlairs Road, on its way to run alongside the Springburn Expressway. There is a steeper flight of steps at Ashvale Crescent, so the only way to get to here step-free is from Carleston Stre ... [more]

Signage for the Springburn Quietway, but no dropped kerb to join the carriageway from the adjacent path. Not so easy to bump a kerb having come up a steep hill. A connection could be formed with Hawthorn Street here.

  • Icon 156266 Crossing this road is hazardous due to parked vehicles and traffic emerging from the nearby junction. It is a main pedestrian route to the village school and for children who cross to catch buses that stop nearby. A formalised crossing point is required here - central reservation and/or zebra crossing.
  • Icon 156265 There is some terrible speeding down Milton Road, despite it supposedly being a 20 mph zone. How about installing a speed camera here, or getting a speed camera van to come here every so often, to make the situation safer for pedestrians? Even just a 30 mph limit could be checked against. It's not unusual to see someone travelling at 45 mph. The worst offenders seem to be vans and pick-up trucks, presumably because their wheels span the speed humps, but there are plenty of car drivers who drive down at high speed and seem impervious to the humps.

  • Icon 156255 Portland Road is very wide, full of small shops and has a primary school - it's ideal for a protected cycle lane to promote access to local businesses and the school.
  • Icon 156254 Taxi drivers on East Street park dangerously every single day - blocking emergency vehicles, cycle access, and parking on pavements and on the roundabout blocking foot and bus traffic. Needs enforcement and revoking of taxi licenses from dangerous drivers.
